Sensitivity and specificity of protein kinase R (PKR) quantitation in liver tissue: Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve showing highly statistically significant results in which AUC (area under the curve) is 99% and the best cut off value PKR gene expression is 2⁷ with sensitivity of 96%, specificity of 96%, PPV of 96% and NPV of 96% with a diagnostic accuracy of 96% (P<0.0001). Cases with PKR >2⁷ are more likely to be involved with HCC than those with level <2⁷ (odd ratio = 24, 95%CI: 3.5 to 164).
