Immunohistochemical demonstration of claudins protein and E-cadherin expression in human gastric cancer and adjacent tissue. Claudins and E-cadherin were expressed in the cell membrane. (A), high E-Cadherin expression was detected in tissue adjacent to human gastric cancer compared with low E-Cadherin expression in human gastric cancer tissue (B) (400×) (C), claudin-10 was highly expressed in epithelial cells adjacent to gastric cancer but was expressed at low levels in cancer tissue itself (D).
