a (Diff-Quik stain, 200x) and b (H&E, 100x): Well-differentiated HCC demonstrate monotonous tumor cells with slight hyperchromasia, discohesiveness, and slightly increased N/C ratio on cytologic preparation. Concurrent liver biopsy shows pseudoglandular formation. c (Diff-Quik stain, 200x) and d (H&E, 100x): Poorly differentiated HCC shows prominent nuclear atypia, many naked nuclei and prominent nucleoli on cytologic preparation. Concurrent biopsy shows a high grade neoplasm with brisk mitotic activity
