Basal cell adenoma (BCA). BCA of tubular (a-c), solid (d-f), trabecular (g-i) growth patterns with hematoxylin-eosin staining (a, d, and g), TLE1(b, e, and h), and β-catenin (c, f, and i) immunostaining, respectively, are shown. Luminal cells are positive for TLE1 (b, e, and h). Abluminal cells are positive for β-catenin (c, f, and i) in contrast to staining for TLE1. Mutational analysis for CTNNB1 found an exon 3 mutation in 34% of basal cell adenomas (j, BCA case 10)
