a Necrosis is one of the histologic hallmarks of glioblastoma. Necrotic areas are usually seen in a serpentine or geographic pattern. Tumour cells migrate away creating a moving wave of palisading cells around the necrotic areas. (HE 10X) b Immunohistochemical expression of p-Stat3Y705 at the nuclear level. The cells are positive mainly in areas with hypoxia located around the necrosis (20X)
